Understanding Web3 Custom Pricing and how it works

Custom Pricing lets Web3 TLD owners adjust the registration price of domains under their TLD based on specific categories (for example, length, numbers, or emojis). This feature is available inside your Freename dashboard.

Requirement: You must have Reseller Tools enabled on your Web3 TLD to access Custom Pricing. Reseller Tools is an additional option, separate from the Royalties option.

What Is Custom Pricing?

Custom Pricing is a dashboard feature that allows you to set different prices for domains under your TLD based on categories such as:

• Number of characters (from 1 to 8+)
• Number patterns (for example repeated numbers like 111.yourtld)
• Emoji-based domains
• Letter-only names
• Alphanumeric combinations

Important limitation: Some names may not be adjustable through Custom Pricing (for example popular or premium keywords).

How Much Can You Change Prices?

In general, the dashboard lets you adjust pricing within defined limits, such as:

• Lowering the default price by up to 50%
• Increasing the default price by up to 5000%

The dashboard shows:

• Freename base price
• Your updated price
• The percentage change
  
  

How to Configure Custom Pricing

1. Go to Portfolio > Web3 TLDs and open Manage for your TLD.
2. Open the Pricing tab, then select Custom Pricing.
3. Choose the category you want to modify (for example 2 numbers, repeated numbers, emojis).
4. Use the slider to adjust the price.
5. Confirm the change by entering the OTP code sent to your registered email.
6. Save the update.

After saving, new registrations under your TLD will follow your updated category pricing where applicable.

Royalties and External Sales (Optional)

If you enable the Royalties option on your TLD, you can earn royalties from external sales under your TLD according to your settings. Custom Pricing can affect the final price paid for a domain, and royalties (if enabled) are based on the qualifying sale price.

Common Categories You May See

Custom Pricing can include categories such as:

• Numbers (by length and patterns, including repeated numbers)
• Words / letter-only names

Each category can be adjusted independently.
